A space for your relationship to be heard

Every relationship faces moments of difficulty. Recurring arguments, growing distance, or simply the sense that you and your partner aren’t quite connecting the way you used to. Couples therapy offers a structured, supportive space to work through these moments together, with Kira facilitating as a neutral, experienced guide.

At Attune Connect, the relationship is the focus. There’s no taking sides, just a collaborative process designed to help you and your partner understand each other more deeply and move forward together.

Who couple’s therapy can help

Couples therapy can be a valuable source of support for partners navigating:

  • Ongoing communication difficulties or a sense of growing distance
  • Recurring conflict that never quite seems to resolve
  • Rebuilding trust after a difficult period in the relationship
  • Major life transitions navigated together — new parenthood, blended families, career changes, or relocation
  • A desire to strengthen and invest in the relationship, even when things are going well

Your relationship doesn’t need to be in crisis to benefit from couples therapy. Many partners come to sessions simply wanting to build stronger communication and connection before challenges escalate.

How Kira works with you

Kira’s primary approach to couples work is the Gottman Method — a structured, research-based framework developed from decades of study into what makes relationships thrive. Rather than generic talk therapy, the Gottman Method focuses on building practical, evidence-based skills in communication, conflict management, and connection.

As with all therapy at Attune Connect, this work is underpinned by a Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) approach, meaning both partners’ feedback actively shapes the direction of the work, with Kira regularly checking in to ensure the process feels right for both of you.

What to expect from sessions

Sessions are available in person at The Work Well Health Centre in Paddington, or remotely via video call.

For couple’s just starting out, couple’s therapy begins with a structured assessment phase, consisting of four appointments:

  1. Before your first appointment, each partner will complete a comprehensive online Gottman Relationship Checkup questionnaire (USD $39.00) to assess the current relationship.
  2. An initial session together (60 minutes), to understand your relationship and what’s brought you to therapy
  3. An individual session with each partner (60 minutes total), giving you both the space to share your own perspective
  4. A feedback and goal-setting session (60 minutes), where Kira brings everything together and collaborates with you both on a path forward

This assessment phase ensures Kira has a full and balanced understanding of your relationship before therapy begins in earnest, and gives both partners a genuine opportunity to be heard individually, as well as together.

From there, the frequency and shape of ongoing sessions will be tailored to you and your partner’s needs as Kira helps you navigate through Phase 2 & Phase 3 of couple’s therapy.

Medicare rebates are not available for couple’s therapy sessions.
